FreightCar America, Inc. is a manufacturer of railcars and railcar components. The Company operates in two segments: Manufacturing and Parts. Manufacturing segment includes new railcar manufacturing, used railcar sales, railcar leasing and major railcar rebuilds. The Company’s Parts segment is combined with corporate and other non-operating activities as Corporate and other. Its products and services include designing and manufacturing a variety of freight cars, including covered hoppers, open top hoppers, gondolas, intermodal and non-intermodal flat cars that transport numerous types of dry bulk and containerized freight products. Its railcar types include VersaFlood hopper cars, covered hopper cars, DynaStack series, steel products cars, boxcars, aluminum coal cars and other railcar types. The Company also leases freight cars through its JAIX Leasing Company subsidiary. The Company's railcar manufacturing facilities are located in Cherokee, Alabama (Shoals) and Illinois.
